TRAVEL IN INDIA

The international airport at Kolkata is called the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport (Airport code CCU) where one can board international and domestic flights. The airport is along the northern border of the city of Kolkata (slightly to the North East). It is about 17 kilometres from the centre of the city, and about 15 kilometres from the Techno India, Sec V, Salt Lake, Kolkata, the venue of the event.
BY TRAIN
The Sealdah Railway Station and Kolkata Railway Station are very closed (within 10 Kilometres) to the Techno India, Sec V, Salt Lake, Kolkata, the venue of the event. Other railway stations such as Howrah Railway Station, Santragachi Railway Junction, and Shalimar Railway Station are within the distance of 20 Kilometres from the event. From Sealdah Railway Station you will find East-West Metro Railway which directly comes to Sec V, Salt Lake, the venue of the event.
BY TAXI
If you are coming from the airport or one of the railway stations, it is better to hire a taxi from the prepaid taxi booth. In case you are coming from the airport, you will find the pre-paid taxi booth inside the airport terminal. Please mention that you want to go to Techno India, Sector - 5, Salt Lake, Kolkata. You have to pay the fare in this booth and the official at the booth will hand over a slip to you. You have to come out of the airport terminal with the slip. There will be taxi parks just outside the terminal where you will be allotted a taxi on production of the slip. These taxis are yellow or white (with some blue borders) in colour. The West Bengal traffic police maintains a site for the pre-paid taxi service. You also have the following options to hire a taxi from anywhere in Kolkata:

BUS TRAVEL
There are a large number of buses and minibuses that pass by the Institute campus. From Howrah Railway Station to the Institute, the buses that pass are 215A, Japani Gate Mini, Tikiapara Mini, AC12, S12. The nearest railway station from the institute is Bidhannagar Railway Station. From Bidhannagar Railway Station to the Institute it is better to catch an auto. The buses that pass from Bidhannagar Railway Station are 201, 215A, Japani Gate Mini, Tikiapara Mini, DN8, K1, KB22. You can always have a look at the Kolkata Map. From other railway Station, it is better to catch either a bus or a taxi to reach to Techno India.
BY METRO
From Sealdah Railway Station you will find East-West Metro Railway which directly comes to Sec V, Salt Lake. The nearest metro station to Airport is DumDum, and nearest metro station to Howrah Railway Station is Mahatma Gandhi Road. In that metro route the nearest metro station to Techno India is Sovabazar/Shyambazar, from where many Buses and Auto services are available to Techno India.
